Critical Writing and Reading I: Grades 9-11

These critical writing and reading courses are designed to help students improve their reading and composition skills by introducing and developing strategies for academic success that are useful in mastering the appropriate grade level literature introduced in the BPS ELA curriculum. Through a variety of reading and writing activities, students will gain a metacognitive awareness of the multiple literacy skills that they engage in on a daily basis. Ultimately, the courses will demonstrate how a focus on critical literature can transform student learning outcomes.
